The Cave Temples of Ajanta were 'lost' for centuries
until rediscovered by a British hunting party. Over
the course of several centuries, Hindu monk-artisans lived and
carved in the horseshoe-shaped river valley. Now these rock-cut
temples and vihars are a World Heritage site. |
