On The Road

St. Lous has The Gateway Arch, 600-some feet tall, made with the finest stainless steel seam welding you'll ever see. It was conceived in the 1930's and finally built in the '60's, basically as a tourist attraction, of the high-minded civic-pride type. Inside the arch is a little elevator-train that takes you to an observation deck at the top. After camping in a nice little State park nearby, we arrived early in the morning. But even then the wait was roughly half a day.

So we visited the underground museum, shot this picture and split.
