August 12th, a warm and sunny Sunday afternoon, we assembled at Lake McDonald Lodge, and then boarded the DeSmet for our boat tour and ceremony to honor Paul and his last request. (For Paul's second-to-last trip, to Ireland, check out the Paul's Travels page). |

| Our captain and crew were welcoming and accomodating, and soon the kids were exploring the boat, and even steering it.

Day brought a purple wig for Jan, which was well-received as a fashion statement. Monica coordinated our program, as we began the long return leg of the journey. Hearts full, and moist of eye, we spoke a little, sang a little, played a little music, each saying goodbye to Paul in our own way,

Afterwards the whole group repaired to Jammer Joe's for dinner and cake, hosted by Marion/Mom.
