Taliesin Visit

The Taliesin community not only built its own buildings but also grew its own food in gardens and fields, raised livestock and repaired its machinery. Midway Barns was the center of this activity. The photo (below) of a farm courtyard with an almost European feel was taken from the small patio of a cluster of uphill apartments connected to the barns. The fields in the distance belonged to the estate, once a mile square.

The farming complex is slowly falling to ruin (click to see Day's assessment) as preservation efforts await funding.
