Philadelphia ...

We made good time driving, to the East so, getting into the swing of being impatient tourists, we decided to squeeze in a morning in Philly. Above, Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Facing it (below) is the glass building that houses the Liberty Bell, reflecting Independence Hall. The line was 3 hours long -- didn't fit the schedule -- we moved on.

.... and Boston

Old Ironsides

Our 'tour ensign' ..... and the last of a parade leaving from the top of Bunker Hill. I had sufficiently forgotten my American History to be surprised to re-learn that the Revolution basically started here. It was the feisty North-Enders of Boston who took a hundred years of colonial discontent towards the British system and turned it into manifestos and musket-balls.

After the show, Gabe gets a blue autograph on their music CD.

Probably our favorite Boston experience was a performance by the Blue Man Group. No photography was allowed during their delightful show, so I've cribbed these images from their website. Gabe and I want to take a group of you to see them in Chicago, soon!
