Portrait Doll – cast paperclay, oil-painted

Jan fashioned ‘Millie’ after a photo of Grandma (oval frame beside the doll) taken when Mildred was just four years old.  This doll was the first of several Jan made with paperclay; others she carved out of blocks of wood.
